Arrival in Toronto

Well I have officially arrived and I have all the paperwork completed. I'm here for the long haul, or for at least as long as I was in St. Joe's which was 25 days.

How was my ride here? Well, I'll put it lightly, I was convinced that the ride itself would break my water. Being strapped, yes, strapped, to a bed no wider than my hips (while they are wide, the bed was not near wide enough) on a mattress as comfortable as plywood! The driver drove fast, in fact we made it here in 1hr 45 mins and then the paramedics did not know where to take me so I was stuck in the hall for a good 20 minutes while they figured out what to do with me (still strapped at this point in a 5 point harness!). I don't think ambulances were built with shocks! I felt every bump and got to the point where I had to hang onto my belly because they were moving around so much.

I finally got to my room at about 12:30 (after missing lunch and nearly starving to death). Waited around for a while before anyone saw me and then went through the whole history thing again. I knew I was in for some pain for the ride, I told Craig it would happen. Sure enough it did and I've been fighting cramping all night. I know they're just braxon hicks because lots of girls on the floor said they had when they were transferred, but it's still scary. I'll be sure to get lots of rest tonight.

We hooked my phone up for real this time. I cannot call long distance and can only call local. But anyone can call me. Please don't be afraid to wake me...who knows if I'll sleep up here since I didn't sleep in London.

I am in room 718 A of Mount Sinai Hospital and my phone number is (416) 586-5900 ext 7179

Thanks for all your support,
Lindsay
